1993. It was first held as a single day event by the FATD at the Hellenic Club, Canberra and attracted 140 couples. The following year the the event was held in the Great Hall, Parliament House and attracted 370 couples. Since 1995 NCDC was held as a two day event. In 1997 the Championship shifted to the Australian Institute of Sport Arena where it has been held ever since.
